Marketplace rules · Version 2026-09-17. Early access: payments and identity checks are test-only while services are connected. These rules do not create escrow, insurance, an authenticity guarantee, or a guaranteed refund.
What verification means
- Email confirmed: the member demonstrated access to their email account. This is not an identity check.
- ID check: where enabled, Stripe checks a government document and matching selfie. FlyGearExchange stores the session reference and result, not copies of your ID or selfie. A test result never becomes a real verified badge.
- Seller payment setup: Stripe has enabled payments and payouts for that account. This is separate from item ownership, condition, authenticity, or aviation qualifications.
Payments go directly to sellers
Buyer checkout charges the seller’s connected Stripe account. FlyGearExchange may receive a disclosed marketplace fee, deducted from seller proceeds. We do not hold payment until delivery or inspection. Stripe controls payment availability and bank payout timing. Payment-provider and cardholder rights are separate from our marketplace review process.
Listing evidence and reviews
At launch we accept headsets and portable pilot electronics. Save a draft to receive a unique photo code. Photograph that handwritten code next to the actual item and add a separate detail photo. Automated checks require complete disclosures; a moderator reviews the submitted code photo before publication. Editing a listing removes its previous approval until it is reviewed again. A reviewed photo is not a physical inspection or a guarantee of function, legal ownership, or authenticity.
Only participants in a completed purchase may post one review each. Test-order feedback does not appear in public seller ratings. Reviews describe an individual transaction; they are not a guarantee of future performance.
Seller commitments
- Only sell items you own or are authorized to sell. Stolen, counterfeit, recalled, illegal, and airworthiness-critical items are prohibited. No aircraft or training services.
- Use photos of the actual item. Show identifying features, connectors, included accessories, and damage. Do not use stock photos as proof of possession.
- Describe repairs, missing parts, intermittent faults, battery issues, and uncertainty. Say exactly what you tested and when. “Not tested” must never imply “working.”
- No misleading compatibility, certification, warranty, or performance claims. Do not describe used gear as new or conceal a known defect behind “as is.”
- Ship the described item with tracking, or arrange an agreed pickup. Do not change the description after a sale to avoid responsibility.
Buyer commitments
- Use accurate delivery details and ask about uncertain compatibility before ordering.
- Do not make false claims, substitute items in a return, harass sellers, or confirm receipt before receiving the item.
- Keep payment and important agreements on the platform. Do not send gift cards, wire transfers, login codes, or identity documents through messages.
If something goes wrong
Use “Report this listing” for a suspected scam, misleading claim, prohibited item, or a transaction problem. Include the order reference if applicable. Keep item photos, packaging, tracking, and messages. The buyer and seller should discuss the issue in their existing conversation; sellers can issue a full refund from Orders once payments are connected. Do not return an item without agreed return instructions.
Reports enter a moderator queue; they do not trigger an automatic refund or restriction. A moderator can remove a listing or restrict an account after reviewing the evidence. Restricted members retain order access and existing conversations to resolve purchases. Account restrictions carry a reason; use Account → Report a problem or request review to request reconsideration, referencing the decision and any new evidence. There is no promised response time during early access.
Records and privacy
We record the rules version you accepted and preserve listing details when checkout starts. Your display name, public location, listing disclosures, and verification status are visible to marketplace users. Private messages are available to their participants; order and delivery information is accessible to the buyer, seller, and authorized support staff. Do not post home addresses, full serial numbers, ID documents, or banking details in public descriptions. Stripe handles payment and verification information under its own privacy terms.
Before buying aviation equipment
Verification is not a safety inspection or approval for installation. Confirm suitability with the manufacturer or an appropriately qualified professional. This first release is for headsets and portable pilot electronics.
